Another Day, Another Toxic Gas Cloud

When I left today, I left the TV on for the dogs. They get lonely.

When I returned, I never bothered to turn it off and just went about my business with a couple of deadlines.

And then I went to the kitchen around 4 to get a drink and saw an ominous news crawl scrolling across the bottom of the screen...

"TOXIC AMONIA CLOUD DRIFTING TO SOUTHWEST BAKERSFIELD... "TOXIC AMONIA CLOUD DRIFTING TO SOUTHWEST BAKERSFIELD... "TOXIC AMONIA CLOUD DRIFTING TO SOUTHWEST BAKERSFIELD... "

Well... how bad could it be? They didn't even interrupt "Judge Judy".

And besides, there are so many toxic businesses and industries that surround this town, it would be a Herculean job just to keep track of them. Which is why the city doesn't even bother.

Now, they've actually interrupted the TV with a warning...

OK, well.... good news.

They say unless your eyes start burning and bleeding, your OK.

So far, so good.
