Long before we moved here, a mammoth oil refinery out on Rosedale Highway went belly up.
True to Bako's "lenient" zoning laws (assuming there are some, which is a sucker's bet), it basically backs up on several newish housing developments.
People have been bitching ever since about what a eyesore it was, pleading with the city to "do something".
So, last year, when another oil company stepped up to take it over and re-open it, there was a sense of relief that at least, if it had to be there at all, it would once again be productive.
Well, last night, it blew up.
C'est la vie.
